The elevation of the maxillary sinus is a surgical technique that aims to increase bone in the upper arcade of the mouth. In this way, an adequate bone base is achieved in which to place dental implants, in those cases in which the patient does not have sufficient height or bone volume.
In the area of the upper molars, above the roots, there is a pneumatic cavity called the maxillary sinus, which is connected to the nasal cavity. The loss of teeth can cause a considerable decrease in the distance between the gum and this sinus.
